Prayer for the Week: Giver of Life and the Abundant Life, this world is quite amazing. There is so much we do not understand or cannot even begin to comprehend, yet we are most often awe-struck by the beautiful complexity and depth to everything that is. There are moments, though, when the mystery and the uncertainty leave us struck, but with anxiousness. In our world right now there is plenty of unpredictability and growing fear. For that reason, we turn to you and your grace that give us comfort. Do not allow the unease we might feel to constrict our vision or allow our focus to drift away from you. Bring to us your Spirit, the one they called the Comforter, so that in the midst of worry and fret, we do not lose hope. And where others are dealing with illness or waiting for test results, let there be what the Apostle Paul described as a peace that goes far beyond anything one could imagine. Be the Rock amidst the turbulence; be the Light when the shadows appear long; be the Saving One who hears every cry; be our friend amidst all fears, real and perceived. O Giver of Life and the Abundant Life, move us to the place where we can remain fully connected to the Gospel through which you made real your relentless and redemptive love. This we pray in the name of Christ. Amen.
