ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS
April 13, 2020
Prayer for the Week: It is Easter Monday and the power of resurrection continues with absolutely no let down. Merciful God, we might be feeling a little down personally, but these are the moments where we see with clarity how the flow of your gifts to the world is not slowed or restrained. Assist us in our interior sacred work so that we are more receptive to what you are giving. We claim to be an Easter People, but right now it is difficult for many of us to find ways of expressing our faith. It feels like we are singing without an audience or dancing without a partner, yet you have always celebrated the creativity of your people. You guide us into new ways of incorporating the many fragmented pieces of Christ’s body in the world. We may not be able to hold hands, but we are bound together by your Spirit in the common work of kindness and compassion that reveals the Love First Life. Keep us focused as disengagement of mind and spirit is not what is needed. Instead, guide us to a reengagement that is distinctive for this peculiar and challenging moment. School us in the works of grace that can be done even when social distancing is necessary. This we pray in the name of the Resurrected Christ who remains our mentor and model in this work. Amen.
