ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS
June 22, 2020
Prayer for the Week: Merciful God, in a world that can appear complicated and chaotic, we seek your help in finding a place to put our faith to work. We do not wish to feel incapacitated and stuck as we notice the immense difficulties staring back at us. It would be much easier to ignore and walk away, and there are plenty of people choosing the simple way out. In the name of Christ Jesus, we declare our hope-filled inclination to find one thing we can do today to make this world a little better. The cosmic forces of destruction want nothing more than for us to become bewildered and overwhelmed, convincing us that nothing can change. In the power of your grace, we dismiss any so-called authority these forces claim to have over our convictions. Provide us purpose, and then point us toward whatever project our gifts can serve. We ask this in the belief that we have been given, not a spirit of timidity, but a spirit that is bold, relentless and confident. Amen.
