Scripture: Acts 2:1-2
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
Thought for the Day: I love the story of Pentecost! It is this magical (I know some people won’t like that word) and amazing story that draws me into the narrative. It would make a great Pixar movie. I’ve experienced moments of intense spirit-filled emotion where I felt as if I was being lifted by a wind or breath, a spirit or some unexplainable presence. There was no engineering or meteorological device that could have measured or recorded the experiences, but to this day, I remain capable of rediscovering and reconnecting with those memories because of their impactfulness. I pray for each of us to have such moments in life – Pentecost moments – that continue to impact us and our faith journey.
Prayer: Breathe into me, O Gracious Spirit! Fill me and lift me for the good work of loving others as you loved me. Amen.
