I will celebrate and rejoice in you; I will sing praises to your name, Most High.
Thought for the Day: On this day in 1954, Elvis Presley recorded his first song, That’s All Right. I’m sure there was great excitement and hope within the heart of that young man who was only 19 years old at the time. Could he have imagined the successes he would experience in life through music? Even in his most wild dreams at that young age I doubt he even came close. Music is an amazing gift, and there are many throughout history who have brought crowds of people together through the gift of music. For most of us who will probably never draw more than our parents – or at best, a few friend – music is a way of celebrating and praising and expressing joy. Whether it is pulling out an old 45 of Elvis at some point today or turning the radio to a station that is playing a well known Christian song, I hope you will celebrate by singing.
Prayer: Give me, not necessarily a perfect voice, but a voice full of joy and praise. This is my request, O Lord of the song. Amen.
