Scripture: Psalm 150:6
Let every living thing praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!
Thought for the Day: St. Francis of Assisi spoken often about creation. In Little Flowers, we find the words:
My little bird sisters, you owe much to God your Creator, and you must always and everywhere praise him… the Creator loves you very much since he gives you so many good things. Therefore, my little bird sisters, be careful not to be ungrateful…
St. Francis talked freely with the animals and plants throughout his ministry, for he saw them as conversation partners in the faith, and as fellow worshipers of God. Worship is an important Spiritual Practice, for it creates greater obedience to God. At the same time, when we acknowledge our individual worship as just one part of the greater worship of God, we find a deep and life-giving link with the creation around us – our fellow worshipers of God.
Prayer: Allow my voice to join the voices of others – the animals and birds, the humans and plants, the fish and rocks – for a great ensemble that acknowledges your worthiness, O Creator of all Life. Amen.
SEE YOU IN WORSHIP
