Scripture: 2nd Corinthians 13:13 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Thought for the Day: This coming Sunday is Trinity Sunday, an important Sunday on the Church Calendar. It makes sense that we celebrate the Trinity at this time of the year as we have seen a lot of activity among the three
Prayer for the Week: A Spirit of love and power has descended upon us, but are we receptive? The season of Pentecost is upon us, and we call upon you, O Gracious God, to continue to pour your empowering gifts into our lives. The church – your community upon the earth – needs to be inspired and emboldened to continue to live as Jesus has taught. The world
Scripture: Matthew 14:15 When it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is now late; send the crowds away so that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” Thought for the Day: Jesus taught and showed his disciples what compassion and generosity looked like, but the moment they were called upon to demonstrate it
Scripture: Acts 7:30-31 Now when forty years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in the flame of a burning bush. Thought for the Day: A while back, I mentioned Rev. Nadia Bolz-Weber, and I described her as

Thought for the Day: This is a passage I have used often at memorial services as I believe it speaks well to the context, but its meaning stretches well beyond that single
Scripture: James 4:17 It is a sin when someone knows the right thing to do and doesn’t do it. Thought for the Day: Yesterday, Christians (including many clergy) from across the country participated in what is called the Poor People’s Campaign, specifically kicking off the 40 Days of Moral Action. The campaign specifically focuses on economic injustice, the brokenness caused by racism, the deepening divide between the rich
Prayer for the Week: God, you are the source of all good gifts. In our post-flood reality, we have felt a range of emotions – frustration, exhaustion, sadness, disappointment and hope. It seems a bit strange that hope can still find a way of sneaking into what was and continues to be a great challenge, yet is shouldn’t be strange or even a surprise. You are the God
