Prayer for the Week: There is so much routine and repetition to life, O Heavenly Father. We have patterns to our daily life that help us to get done what needs to get done. We give you thanks for the rhythm of life that can bring comfort and contentment. Teach us how best to make our growing connection to you a central part of that daily routine. Even when the pattern is interrupted or completely thrown off the rails, let me find time that is devoted to you. Assist me as I strive to make prayer as central to my life as breathing; to make my times of meditation as regular as the time I spend brushing my teeth; to make my times of study and other spiritual practices as consistent as my heart rate. As I move through these last weeks of Lent and see Jerusalem and Golgotha’s cross upon the horizon, keep me steady in what is important. Lead me to as many moments as possible where I can find you and spend time with you. I make these requests as one who loves you, O Lord, and who desires to be a more committed and passionate follower of Jesus. Amen.
