As a result of all this, my loved brothers and sisters, you must stand firm, unshakable, excelling in the work of the Lord as always, because you know that your labor isn’t going to be for nothing in the Lord.
Thought for the Day: Stand firm, be unshakeable and excel in the work of the Lord. Beautiful imagery, but on our best days such things are not easy. It all begins with the steadfast nature of the One on which we stand. We may still quiver just a little, but when the One who holds us is unshakable, we feel a bit more confident. When anxiousness grips us, there is One who not only walks ahead of us but also beside us to help us take the needed steps. Paul declares with conviction a strong and vibrant image of faithfulness, but for Paul, it all begins with the steadfast nature of the One on which he stands.
Prayer: I need you, O Lord, I need you. As the hymn announces, I need you every hour, and if I were to be truthful, I need you every minute to be my foundation, my companion and my guide. Thank you for being steadfast in all you do. Amen.
