Thought for the Day: TODAY WE BLESS THE ANIMALS AND STUFFED ANIMALS. Today is a wonderful day around Cypress Creek Christian Church. Not only is there all the activities of Creekfest, but people in our community will bring there precious four legged or slithery friends for blessing. People often joke about their pets being members of the family, but I do not believe it is to be viewed as a joke. For many people, their animal is a companion and excellent listener. Even God seems to recognize how the animals belong in the household of God. The word ‘save’ is the same Hebrew word that describes the saving acts of God – both temporal and eternal. Today, let us celebrate God’s many gifts, but especially the furry, feathered, finned and scaly members of the family.
Prayer: For your deep and abiding love for all creation, I give you thank – O Lord of Life. Amen.
