A Prayer For This Sunday – The Power and generosity of your Spirit, O God, moves across the universe – it is found in every element, known and unknown. There is nothing that is apart from you. Your Spirit moves and gives life to all that was, is and shall become. It is that Spirit that pulses with life through your church, your Christ-centered community. We call its energy, Love, and in a world that still has plenty of darkness and hate, evil and hostility, we need more than ever those who will tap into its power. Allow us to draw from it that which will make us more like Jesus. We remain a broken people who fall short of his beautiful and amazing example, but by your Spirit, and its energy of Love, we know that difficulty and destruction will give way to your redemption work. Even when our vision is incapable of seeing where Love will be victorious, provide a tether between our faith and you, Merciful God. Allow us to be brought along, not as reluctant bystanders, but as passionate witnesses to the glorious victory which is Jesus Christ and his unconditional love for all. This is my prayer offered on this Sunday morning, November 13, 2016. Amen.
