Prayer for the Week: Is there enough time – Do I have enough energy – What will I get out of it? So many things play into my decisions on whether I will join you in the sharing of your Gospel of everlasting and unconditional love. God of All Creation, I am challenged each day on how I will distribute the time I have, allocate the energy I’ve been given, and whether I will make decisions based solely on selfish interest. Forgive me when my list of priorities does not include you, or views you more as an alternative if there is leftover time and energy. As I continue on this Lenten Journey, reconnect me to what it means to claim the name of Christ; what it means to profess the ways of Jesus; what it means to say, “I am a Christian!” Such a profound assertion cannot be contained within an hour or two on Sunday morning. Your gift of love to this world demands my attention, allegiance and obedience. Though your mercy abounds amidst my failed attempts, I will not allow short term failure to constrain my passion for you and the Gospel. I will find the time and energy if it is mine to find, and I will strive to make it about you and your Kingdom of Grace. This I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
