Ecclesiological Etchings

Scripture: Isaiah 40:31
…those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength; they will fly up on wings like eagles; they will run and not be tired; they will walk and not be weary.

Thought for the Day: Helen Keller said, “One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar.” Maybe I’m too much of an optimist, but I have always believed there is an impulse within us to take the leap and soar. Of course, an impulse is not the same as taking the initial step toward take off. It is an urge that requires a spark. Isaiah suggests that the Lord will renew or ignite our strength for the purpose of taking flight and soaring. The world needs those who recognize the impulse and seek to see it come alive within them. Let’s soar!

Prayer: Come and renew my strength, O Lord, who wishes to see me fly like the eagles. Renew and ignite within me a passion to serve you for the sake of your kingdom. Amen.
