In a world where news organizations seek to keep us on edge, where money drives the narrative above truth-telling, where fear is a tool wielded well by so many, it is difficult to remain centered in a place where an objective perspective alongside our faith convictions can be brought to the conversation. Chaos and anxiety that creates feelings of scarcity and insecurity are skillfully utilized by the darkness, and we are so easily drawn into the shadows where we unknowingly participate and propagate these emotions in the lives of others. Forgive us, Merciful God, and then invite us to be people of the light. Center us in your light of love, where darkness shall never know any ultimate victory. O Prince of Peace, we desire to be content with you, calm in your gracious Spirit, and at peace with your gift of peace, Jesus. Amen.
