Prayer for the Week: Where children and youth are given opportunities to serve and share, we believe they are learning who they were created to be and encouraging others to explore this holy identity. O God of All Creation, shape within us an awareness of your beauty and joy that is found in the livese of all human beings. Continue to nudge us beyond our self-centered living and our tribal-focused perspectives. Drag us, if necessary, to where we can see and hear and experience a broader cross section of our humanity. Where age, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, education, life experiences can push us into small and more narrow camps of exclusion, we desire for your Spirit to expand our encounters. Allow for our common humanity to be what brings us together – let us seek to listen and learn, to appreciate as you appreciate, to decrease our anxiousness around differences, and to learn love as Jesus taught. It is in his name that we offer these words. Amen.
