Prayer for the Week: In a world that too easily dismisses the humanity of so many individuals, we seek to know and to become your alternative vision, O Heavenly Father. In you, we find creativity and life. In you, we discover our calling to joyfully celebrate the beauty of every human being. At times, it can be challenging. Within each of us, there is bias that interferes with our capacity to see as you see, O Artist of the Soul. There are other moments when the actions or attitudes of others leave us hurt or angry. No matter the situation, allow your Spirit and the life of Jesus Christ to inspire a life that puts love first. There will be times when we will need to distance ourselves from certain people for our emotional or even physical health, but we pray for you to keep bitterness or hate from consuming us. Continue to remind us how you love us, and it is only as we understand ourselves as your beloved that we can become instruments by which your love is shared with others. This we pray in your glorious and life-giving name. Amen.
