Prayer for the Week:
Creating God,
you continue to create and recreate
like a visionary artist.
Your mercy seeks
the best for us and from us,
and though we are not always
the most pliable
in your innovative hands,
we pray for your patience,
your persistence,
your gracious resolve.
Make us aware
that faith is never stagnant.
It is an ongoing creative experience
by which we grow
in our relationship with you
and continue to think creatively
in how our relationship with you
is to be lived
in an ever changing world.
When events happen
that shock our spirits,
leaving us wounded and lost,
we seek your Spirit’s assistance
in finding unimagined options
and alternatives.
Too often we accept
a spiritual cataract
and a growing dimness in our faith,
but you are the God
of new possibilities.
Your glory shines brightly
to enlighten our lives
and our perception.
Creating God, continue to create
and recreate our lives. Amen.
