Prayer for the Week: Bolt our feet in place for a moment or two. Put a pin in the chaos for just a few short minutes. Let there be some space carved out for us to be present to your presence, O Holy One of Peace. There are no excuses that will surprise you. There are no smokescreens you haven’t seen past. There are no distractions capable of pulling you off topic. You are here, and wherever here is in this moment we plead for you to make this time, however long it is, a sanctuary where the ancient voices share wisdom, prophets challenge assumptions and Jesus makes an appearance with a notion of radical love. This request is made with genuine hope, a hope that even a few quiet minutes with you can make all the difference in our little worlds and in the larger world as well. Amen.
