Prayer for the Week
:
Are we getting closer to the end?
It feels like we’ve been treading the waters
of this pandemic for far too long.
We are done! We’ve been done!
Gracious God, our frustration level – intensified by boredom and a yearning for some semblance of normalcy – is having us act in ways that are not too Christ-like. Our tempers are short; our list of complaints is not short; our dress clothes want a night on the town. Help us, Merciful One, as we do not wish for our growing annoyance to be the cause of anyone’s illness. It is our greatest hope that at some point down the road we will look back on this time and feel comfortable with our choices. We wish to be faithful to your command to love others as you loved us. And when we look to Jesus, we see a love that put others before self. It is not easy, God, and our frustration remains high. Yet with your Spirit at our side, we believe this time will be the fertile soil from which something amazing will come. This is our hope. Amen.
