Scripture: Isaiah 57:14
It will be said: “Survey, survey; build a road! Remove barriers from my people’s road!”
Thought for the Day: I have never personally built a road, but it would be my guess that without the proper knowledge or tools such a task would be challenging…maybe impossible. There are many roads associated with faith – the road to God; the road toward reconciliation; the road beyond forgiveness; the road of repentance; the road to the cross; the road of greater commitment. The image from Isaiah could be used for anyone trying to build and pave a route from one place to another in this journey of faith. What I takeaway from Isaiah is no matter the journey you face personally, if you take it seriously, it will challenge you. Don’t rush it. Take the proper steps. Don’t go halfway on the project. If you’re serious, the time and energy you give to the journey and the path itself will serve you well in the end.
Prayer: Guide me in this moment and along my unique path, O Lord of the Journey. Provide me the necessary tools for the work required, while also giving me the vision to see the destination and the best way to that blessed place. Amen.
