Scripture: Isaiah 41:10
Don’t fear, because I am with you; don’t be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will surely help you; I will hold you with my righteous strong hand.
Thought for the Day: A member of our church family, Sheridan Green, saw an image that he thought was the antithesis of the Cypress Creek Christian Church message (see image below). Sheridan wasn’t too sure where the picture was taken, but it caught his attention. From our earlier series entitled, BEGIN, to the Season of Advent to our mission of putting Love First – these all stand opposed to a message that tells the world to Give Up. Most of the time it is not quite as clear as it is in the image. Instead, it is usually a quiet voice whispering to us: give up, give into the ways of the world, don’t trust the power of love, allow for helplessness and hopelessness to prevail. As I think more about it, I believe more and more people are giving up on society, faith, friendship, politics, happiness and life in general. For those of you who might be tempted, I pray that the messages you’ve heard recently on Sunday mornings have given you a reason to cling to hope, the power of unconditional love and our God who promises to be with us always.
Prayer: When everything suggests it is time to Give Up, I seek you and your hope-filled message. You are my Strength and the Everlasting Redeemer, and with you, I know there is reason to press on. Amen.
