Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:12-14
Just as a body, though one has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body – whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free – and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
Thought for the Day: We have all worked in group projects at school. When we talk about group projects, we find out that most of us don’t want to be part of them. One of us usually ends up doing all the work while everyone else in the group takes credit. Sometimes, one of your group members just chooses not to show up. Other times you aren’t let in to help with the work because there aren’t enough tasks. However, there have been those few times where everyone pulled their weight in the group. Meeting up was fun and the final product was amazing. There have even been a few times where we have made new friends. In the body of Christ we all have different gifts. Working in positive groups for school we can see the possibility of the amazing outcomes Jesus promised through recognizing and encouraging the gifts of others and the gifts within ourselves.
Prayer: Lord, provide me strength and patience to learn and know others even when it is difficult. Help me to recognize my own gifts, see value in the gifts of others, and work with others to form a healthy body in Christ. Amen.
