Ecclesiological Etchings

Scripture: Mark 11:7-8
Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it; and he sat on it. Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut in the fields.

Thought for the Day: Tomorrow is Palm Sunday, one of the marvelous days in the life of the church year. There will be opportunities for children and adults to raise and wave Palm branches, to sing triumphant songs as we retell of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. Worship that takes seriously the liturgical year is about teaching and reinforcing the faith story. The hope is that we not only hear the story and celebrate it’s meaning, but that we find ourselves aligning more fully with the story itself.

Come and participate this Sunday! Children will join us for worship – there will be a children’s moment at 9:30 & 11:00, along with the children’s choir. There will be special music from our bell choirs, and the sermon will even be a bit shorter. 🙂

It is Palm Sunday – the entry point into Holy Week and an important place for all of us to be.

Prayer: Lord God, for the next week or so, we will be looking to you. It could be just another week where nothing out of the ordinary occurs or it could be an extraordinary week. Guide us in such a way that we can see the things you wish for us to see, the extraordinary events of sacrificial love. Amen.
