Scripture: Mark 16:5-6
Going into the tomb, the women saw a young man in a white robe seated on the right side; and they were startled. But he said to them, “Don’t be alarmed! You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised. He isn’t here. Look, here’s the place where they laid him.
Thought for the Day: Good Morning Easter People! It is good to arrive with you on this amazing day. Wherever you are and whatever you have on the schedule today, I pray that you will find time to celebrate new life on this day of resurrection. With a news media obsessed with bad news and violent stories, our souls are in need of an alternative message. When you begin to believe that 98% of the world is hateful and mean-spirited, return to the story of an empty tomb. There is darkness and suffering in our world, but there are so many amazing examples of people living the Easter-life…people who are overcoming the darkness and suffering with the proclamation that death has no ultimate victory; death will never claim the finish line.
Prayer: Surround me with the voices of Easter! O Lord of the Easter-life, make today a day when my life exemplifies the Good News of an empty tomb. Amen.
