Ecclesiological Etchings

Scripture: Psalm 139:14-15
I give thanks to you that I was marvelously set apart. Your works are wonderful—I know that very well. My bones weren’t hidden from you when I was being put together in a secret place, when I was being woven together in the deep parts of the earth.

Thought for the Day: I love these words from the late Carl Sagan – “Every one of us is, in the cosmic perspective, precious. If a human disagrees with you, let him live. In a hundred billion galaxies, you will not find another.” The destruction of life is disastrous in all circumstances, and though we may find justification for it at times, that justification must always take into account both Sagan and the Psalmist. Life is marvelous and wonderful and precious, no matter how much we dislike or disagree with that other life.

Prayer: In the very complex world in which we live, O Creator of All Life, let me strive to never dismiss your handiwork that is found in all. Amen.
