Scripture: Hebrews 8:12
For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”
Thought for the Day: Is God’s memory really that bad? Is God able to forget what has occurred? We often say, “Forgive and forget,” but in most situations, we don’t really forget. Instead, those who are willing to do the hard work of forgiveness, move to a place where the events of the past no longer consume their thoughts or control their reaction. It is a healthy and necessary move for an individual who is trying to go through the process of forgiveness. Though it can often be difficult for us as human beings, it probably comes easier for God. I believe it is easier for God because God is able to perceive a future where the forgiveness has created healthier and more joyful people. When you see the possibility for good to come by means of a difficult choice today, it makes that difficult decision a bit easier.
Prayer: In your mercy, O Lord, help me to understand how your forgiveness working in me and through me can make a real difference. Amen.

I believe God looks at us through Jesus’ eyes…Pure unconditional love. Thank goodness!
Amen, Pat! Jesus is the visible expression of the invisible God, and the Jesus-life clearly expressed a love that knows no boundaries. If that is what we see in Jesus, then we know what we’ll find in the presence of God.
